NET ZERO CARBON
Our Net-Zero Carbon Program is aimed at encouraging Kenyan’s to contribute towards the mitigation of the global warming crisis and the reduction of GHG emissions through sustainable livelihoods and practices.
Project 1: Non-Motorized Transport (NMT)
- Lobbying for legislation for legislation and policy that supports NMT conducive infrastructure and procedures)
- Creating awareness and public advocacy for the use of NMT
Establishing partnerships & linkages. We promote the use of non-motorized transport across Kenya to promote the reduction of air pollution and to advocate for the incorporation of cycling lanes in the planning and construction of infrastructure. This program is the legacy of the Uvumbuzi Club (whose veteran members/founders inspired the creation of the Uvumbuzi Africa. We also engage in advocacy with regard to policy making & implementation, public participation and establishment of appropriate infrastructure.
Project 2: Alternative Energy
Uvumbuzi strives to create awareness on and promote the use of alternative energy sources that have minimum effects on the environment.
